The property tax rate for Jacksonville homeowners will increase by a maximum of 9 percent next year, if the City Council approves its Finance Committee’s unanimous vote on Tuesday. The committee backed Mayor John Peyton’s request for the rate hike, which would allow the city to maintain the amount of money it takes in from property taxes.

2 cents In a followup to the Draft Tebow bumper stickers, a Jacksonville Beach business is selling Jags Stay in Jax bumper stickers. Heres an opportunity for a capitalist endeavor to go hand-in-hand with a grassroots effort for the city. Two versions of the bumper sticker were sent to the Times-Union last week
